Big bang ZE:A leap into action

Nine-member boy band ZE:A created quite a buzz when they released their debut EP Nativity earlier this year. Their dance track "Mazeltov" was especially popular. The group also received a lot of attention from Thai fans when they came to Bangkok for their Showking M showcase.

To build on their popularity, ZE:A have now followed up that release with Leap for Detonation, a 4-track EP that features the popular new song "All Day Long." Already a hit with K-pop fans, "All Day Long" is catchy from the first listen, but the dance choreography isn't quite as intriguing as is was for "Mazeltov." Fans might also have trouble recognising ZE:A's style when they first hear the track.

The most interesting track on the EP is "Man 2 Man," which has a solid beat and unusual lyrics. The song is about a guy telling another guy to stop hurting his girlfriend.

Being noticed among all of the other Korean boy bands can't be easy, and ZE:A's music team still needs to create a unique song for the group to make them really stand out. ZE:A's choreography team could also do more to give them some distinctive dance routines.

Leap for Detonation isn't a bad release, and fans of the boys will enjoy the 40-page photo album that comes with the CD. However, casual listeners would be better off just legally downloading the songs they like.
