Despicable Me

The latest computer-animated 3-D feature to hit cinemas is Despicable Me, a heart-warming tale about the world's greatest villain meeting his biggest challenge when three young children enter his life.

In a happy suburban neighbourhood surrounded by white picket fences and flowering gardens sits a black house with a dead lawn. Unbeknownst to the neighbours, hidden deep beneath this house is a vast secret hideout.

Living in the hideout, surrounded by an army of mischievous little minions, is Gru (Steve Carell), who happens to be planning the biggest heist the world has ever seen - he plans to steal the moon.

Gru delights in all things wicked. With his arsenal of shrink rays, freeze rays and battle-ready vehicles, he is prepared to destroy anybody who stands in his way.

However, one day Gru encounters three strong-willed little orphaned girls who somehow come to see him as a potential Dad. In the three girls, the world's greatest villain has finally met his greatest challenge.

Alien attack Killer crew fights the Predators

Killer crew fights the Predators

Following on from the science fiction horror classics Predator (1987) and Predator 2 (1990) comes Predators, another action-packed tale of humans battling vicious aliens.

Royce (Adrien Brody) is a mercenary who has been abducted by aliens known as Predators and taken to an alien planet. There he reluctantly leads a group of elite warriors who have all been brought to the planet as prey for the Predators.

With the exception of one disgraced physician, the group is made up of cold-blooded killers - mercenaries, gangsters and convicts. They quickly discover that they've been brought to the planet to be hunted and eliminated by the Predators.
Along the way, the motley crew meets a soldier named Noland (Laurence Fishburne), who has managed to survive on the planet by hiding in a cave. Noland reveals that the Predators have been kidnapping humans to hunt as prey for many years.
With Royce leading the way, the team must fight for survival and try to escape the evil aliens.

Big bang ZE:A leap into action

Nine-member boy band ZE:A created quite a buzz when they released their debut EP Nativity earlier this year. Their dance track "Mazeltov" was especially popular. The group also received a lot of attention from Thai fans when they came to Bangkok for their Showking M showcase.

To build on their popularity, ZE:A have now followed up that release with Leap for Detonation, a 4-track EP that features the popular new song "All Day Long." Already a hit with K-pop fans, "All Day Long" is catchy from the first listen, but the dance choreography isn't quite as intriguing as is was for "Mazeltov." Fans might also have trouble recognising ZE:A's style when they first hear the track.

The most interesting track on the EP is "Man 2 Man," which has a solid beat and unusual lyrics. The song is about a guy telling another guy to stop hurting his girlfriend.

Being noticed among all of the other Korean boy bands can't be easy, and ZE:A's music team still needs to create a unique song for the group to make them really stand out. ZE:A's choreography team could also do more to give them some distinctive dance routines.

Leap for Detonation isn't a bad release, and fans of the boys will enjoy the 40-page photo album that comes with the CD. However, casual listeners would be better off just legally downloading the songs they like.

Run Devil Run : Girls' Generation

Run Devil Run is a repackage of Girls' Generation's second studio album, with their new hit song "Run Devil Run" added. For the "Run Devil Run" music video, the girls have changed from their usual cute and colourful gear into sexy black outfits.

Despite the change of image, the girl still serve up plenty of their usual cute and vibrant songs like "Oh," "Show! Show!Show!" and "Echo."

Run Devil Run has a nice balance between upbeat, catchy pop songs and beautiful ballads. The slow song"Star Star Star " is the best track on the album. The heartbreaking ballad has beautiful lyrics, a great melody and very emotional singing. It's great that Korean label SM Entertainment  has allowed Girls' Generation to show a more grown-up side to their talent on this album.

The retro-styled"Talk to me" is also a highlight . The sweet song is a terrific duet between group members Tiffany and Jessica." Forever" is another on album.

Girls' Generation's singing and dancing abilities have improved a lot since their debut album, and Run Devil Run will definitely impress pop fans. It's an album that you can listen to again without getitng tried of it.
